The NIA has sent out tenders for drilling contractors, attracting interest from inter-regional and international firms. Premier Brantley revealed that the bidding process is well underway, with bid documents expected to be returned by February 2025.  

This marks the second round of bidding, following an initial round that saw three bids fall short of the government’s requirements. Undeterred, the NIA consulted with industry leaders, revised the bidding documents, and is now poised to move forward with renewed confidence.

This funding, combined with the public-private partnership model being pursued, underscores the global significance of the project. It’s a testament to Nevis’ commitment to renewable energy and its role as a leader in the Caribbean’s green energy transition.
