GreenFire Energy and Toyo Engineering Partner to Revitalize Geothermal Power Across Asia Pacific

GreenFire Energy and Toyo Engineering Join Forces to Transform Geothermal Projects in Asia Pacific

September 10, 2025 – A groundbreaking partnership has been announced between GreenFire Energy and Toyo Engineering Corporation (TOYO), aimed at advancing next-generation geothermal projects across the Asia Pacific region.

The collaboration will initially focus on Japan and Indonesia, two countries with vast untapped geothermal resources, before expanding into North America. Together, the two companies plan to unlock the full potential of existing geothermal fields by introducing innovative, closed-loop geothermal systems.

A Leap Forward for Baseload Geothermal Power

GreenFire Energy brings to the partnership its patented closed-loop and advanced geothermal systems (AGS). These systems are designed to capture heat and revitalize geothermal wells that conventional methods can no longer efficiently use. By pairing this with TOYO’s engineering, procurement, construction, and digital optimization expertise, the partnership offers a turnkey geothermal solution that ensures premium, reliable, and low-carbon baseload power.

Rob Klenner, President of GreenFire Energy, stated:

“This partnership marks a leap forward for premium, baseload geothermal power in Asia. Our closed-loop technology has demonstrated its ability to improve recovery in existing assets. Partnering with TOYO scales and streamlines field deployment. Together we can turn under-performing geothermal assets into high-value generation hubs that raise capacity, lower risk, and accelerate speed-to-power for operators across the region.”

Revitalizing Asia’s Geothermal Fields

Asia Pacific is home to the majority of the world’s geothermal production. Japan and Indonesia, in particular, hold immense geothermal potential but face challenges with underperforming wells. Through joint feasibility studies, subsurface modeling, and AGS retrofit projects, GreenFire and TOYO aim to revive aging geothermal fields, extend the lifespan of existing infrastructure, and expand access to low-carbon, resilient energy.

Global Collaboration Opportunities

While Asia Pacific is the immediate focus, the partnership will also explore opportunities in the United States, where GreenFire Energy is already developing projects. Here, TOYO could play a critical role in engineering services and project delivery, further strengthening the collaboration’s global impact.
